Lyle Burgess founded the company when he realized that steering and suspension parts for older cars were becoming hard to get.
Danny Burgess literally grew up in the business alongside his dad, spending most of his time in the machine shop building tooling, one of a kind steering and suspension parts and machines designed to speed up the manufacturing process.
Today, Rare Parts is run by the second generation, Danny Burgess, President and Marshall Giorgi, Vice President. Under their leadership, Rare Parts has been able to branch into new markets, while never forgetting Rare Parts’ roots. The goal today is the same today as it was in 1981. Our philosophy is to stock every single steering and suspension part ever made for any make, model or year vehicle back to 1920. If a part is obsolete, we’ll build it our self. If we hear customers complaining about poor quality parts in the market place, we’ll figure out what the parts are and we’ll design and manufacture a high quality Rare Parts Diamond Series part. Many of our designs are outside of the box such as the dual load carrying ball joint system and Fab Series. What we dream up tonight we can build and start testing tomorrow. Steering and suspension is all we do and we love a good challenge.
Rare Parts stocks the available product lines from Moog, Mcquay-Norris, TRW and more. When a part goes obsolete, or has never been available in the aftermarket, then Rare Parts uses its full in-house machine shop and testing facility to design, test and manufacture it.
We currently manufacture thousands of parts right here in Stockton, California.
