Headquartered at the picturesque Peaks Resort & Spa in Telluride, Colorado (elevation 8,750ft), the Rocky Mountain Adventure takes you on a journey through one of the most scenic mountain ranges in the world. Lead by Jeep Jamboree USA’s elite Trail Guide team you’ll be guaranteed lots of personal attention and provided with expert driving tips along the way. Telluride, a former silver mining camp on the San Miguel River is nestled in the breathtaking San Juan Mountains. Telluride sits in a box canyon surrounded by steep forested mountains and cliffs.

In June 1889, Butch Cassidy robbed the San Miguel Valley Bank and exited with $24,580 dollars and later became famous as a bank robber. During the 1980’s, Telluride developed a reputation for being “Colorado’s best kept secret”, which made it one of the more well-known resort communities with celebrities & movie stars, which include notable residents like Tom Cruise & Oprah Winfrey.

The Peaks Resort & Spa is one of Telluride’s premiere full-service hotels – all guest rooms have astounding mountain views. The Peaks also has a 42,000 square foot spa, the largest in Colorado.

You’ll spend your days traversing 13,000ft mountain passes that surround the historic mining towns of Telluride & Ouray. A stop in Ouray’s natural hot springs will ensure a well-needed rest from the day’s activities. Each day we’ll stop for lunch at abandoned mining towns and learn what life must have been like in the 1800’s.

Your adventure will conclude with a trip down the famous Black Bear Pass, one of the most dangerous off-road trails in the world. Black Bear Pass is a series of switchbacks that traverse the side of an open-face cliff overlooking the town of Telluride; don’t take your eyes off the road, as some drop-offs are more than 1,000ft.
